Mr. Saxophone gets 'em dancing at Kindercare, summer 2010!
Mr. Saxophone is a music program for children, going strong in the St. Louis area for over 13 years. Performer Dave Farver plays the saxophone and acoustic guitar with a prerecorded accompaniment while the kids sing and dance. The performances are thematic and are completely new from month to month.
The shows are very interactive with costumes, musical instruments, and props to let the kids get in on the fun! The majority of child care centers and schools feature Mr. Saxophone monthly or weekly as part of their regular program, while others invite him in for special occasions (parents night, picnics, in-house field trips). The shows are entertaining as well as educational, with an emphasis on informing kids of the wondrous variety of instruments and musical styles from around the world. Over 140 different organizations have invited Mr. Saxophone including area public schools, YMCAs, libraries, the Red Cross, Kindercare, La Petite Academy, and countless other child care centers. So give Mr. Saxophone a try. It's a sure-fire way to make the kids happy, give them some much needed exercise, and to offer stimulation for the growing mind.
Dave has hired some of his favorite local musicians to perform live band shows at area events. Featuring family-friendly entertainment for festivals, carnivals, or any live music event, the band will perform Mr. Saxophone songs as well as great rock and roll covers and dance music. Two members play with Dave in the funk/soul/motown group Dangerous Kitchen. They are Tony Estrada on guitar and Andy Marks on drums. Professional bassist Mathias Leavitt holds down the groove for his and Dave's club band "KiNGPiN" and "Mr. Saxophone and Friends". The group has played events for Parents as Teachers, Schlafly Bottleworks, neighboorhood associations, the Greentree Festival in Kirkwood, and First Night on New Years Eve. To book a show, contact Dave for more details.
